Comparison of Monopolar and Bipolar Electrocautery Excision Techniques in Pilonidal Sinus Disease: A Retrospective Clinical Study

Background: There is no standard method for the treatment of pilonidal sinus disease (PSD). Today, many different methods are attempted. Some leading surgical procedures with flap techniques and less invasive methods, such as crystallized phenol, laser pilonidoplasty, radiofrequency excision, monopolar electrocautery excision. Objectives: This study aimed to compare bipolar excision that we performed in our clinic PSD. Methods: Patients who received between January 2018 2021 were analyzed retrospectively.
